"Rage-quitter hell." That's the topic Maximilian discusses in the latest episode of the "Online Warrior," an Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) web series. Max sounds off on people who disconnect from matches purposely to avoid a loss.
G4TV and the X-Play crew sat down with UFC Undisputed 3 producer, Neven Dravinski and former UFC light heavyweight champion, Tito Ortiz. Dravinski talks about the new submission system and other gameplay features while Ortiz gives his opinion on how the game emulates his style.
The time has come.
Namco Bandai's SoulCalibur V (SCV) is available in stores today (Jan. 31, 2012) for Xbox 360 and PS3. If you haven't purchased the game yet, GiantBomb has almost 30 minutes of SCV footage to further whet your appetite.
The crew takes a look at versus mode, custom characters, mimic characters and other features in the game.
GamerBlake90 has uploaded a combo collection tribute of Ermac. The Mortal Kombat 9 (MK9) character is high on the tier list, and this video showcases why that is. Classic skins also are featured in the clip.
It's no secret that King of Fighters XIII (KoF XIII) doesn't have the best netcode.
This is the exact opposite of Kei Yamamoto's expectations back in Nov. 2011. Yamamoto is the producer of KoF XIII. Atlus USA, North American publisher of the game, addressed the issues in a statement back in Dec.
SNK Playmore also recognized the game's problems and addressed them to its fans. Details were still scarce regarding a patch. Now more is known.
See details of the patch that's set to hit PS3 before Xbox 360 from SNK (via Orochinagi) below:

To hype the upcoming release of Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT), Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono took the game to Stuttgart, Germany for an exclusive presentation. The event showcased general gameplay, Pandora mode and the Gem system.
This presentation coincided with "Da Ultimate Crushing 2012" tournament. Top Street Fighter players such as Tokido and Ryan Hart participated.
Watch the SFxT presentation from Germany below:
At UFC 126, the top pound-for-pound fighter in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Anderson Silva earned the knockout of 2011 when he delivered a front kick to the face of Vitor Belfort. So it's no surprise that the knockout of the year would be relived in video game form for the UFC Undisputed 3 commercial.
Those are the two words that fans of THQ's WWE games have been saying for years. WWE '12 was no exception.
While the game runs smooth online, accessing Community Creations was a nightmare. This is now a thing of the past, according to THQ. That's because a new patch was released today (Jan. 30, 2012) on Xbox Live and PSN.
Tomorrow (Jan. 31, 2012) Namco Bandai’s SoulCalibur V (SCV) will hit stores for Xbox 360 and PS3. To get you prepared for what’s in store, Maximilian runs through the game’s creation and online modes.

Couldn't get enough of Deadpool's antics on Maximilian's Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) series "Assist Me?" Well you're in luck because Max has posted outtakes of the episodes that featured the "Merc with a Mouth."
Score one for the Mega Man
Yesterday, Capcom revealed that Pac-Man and bad boxart "Mega Man" would be playable in Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) as exclusives for the PS3 and PS Vita. While Pac-Man looks decent, Mega Man looks like he spent 20 years at McDonalds.
This left many fans of the Blue Bomber disappointed. One fan on the Capcom-Unity forums asked if a more traditional Mega Man costume would ever see a release.
See the response of Capcom Vice President Christian Svensson after the jump:
So, you wanna be a fighter?
If that's the case, then you'll have to prove you're worthy by climbing up the ranks in UFC Undisputed 3. In the previous game, there weren't many training options in career mode outside of sparring. Now you'll be punching the heavy bag, flipping tires and doing sprawl drills.
THQ and Yuke's wanted to give fans more freedom with the mode, so now you are no longer forced to leave WFA, the organization you start for. As you work your way up the UFC ladder, you'll be getting offers to fight in Pride FC.
Also new to the game this year is the ability to move up in weight. Want to have light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones battle heavyweight title holder, Junior dos Santos? Well now you can.

GameSpot's "On The Spot" this week is all about fighting games. The popular video game source takes a look at Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT), SoulCalibur V (SCV) and SoulCalibur for iOS devices.
Capcom producer, Yoshinori Ono has been known to have a fun personality. But did you know he was also a wizard when it comes to acting?
1UP has uploaded a video that's sure to confuse you. When he's not promoting Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT), Ono is playing Street Fighter villain, M. Bison from the infamous 1994 film.
While Ono may always switch things up, one thing will remain the same. He and Blanka are inseparable.
The folks at Inside Xbox managed to snag some time with Reverge Labs community manager, Peter Bartholow, better known to the community as Ravidrath. Bartholow talks about how Skullgirls came to fruition and what ideas were implemented during development.

Katana-Rama! Deadpool's OTG assist has been effective with many characters in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3). NashdeNate shows how effective the assist can be when using Resident Evil protagonist, Chris Redfield.
If it's broke, fix it.
As promised, THQ have revealed the patch notes for WWE '12. The patch will be available when you pop in the game on Xbox Live or PSN on Monday (Jan. 30).
Along with the patch, the "Legends & Superstars DLC Pack" will be available for purchase in the WWE '12's WWE Shop on Jan. 31. Included in this pack will be free DLC Masked Kane from the Attitude Era.
See the WWE '12 patch notes below:
In less than five days (Jan. 31, 2012) SoulCalibur V (SCV) will hit store shelves for Xbox 360 and PS3. To whet your appetite, Namco Bandai has released a reveal trailer featuring Algol, Edge Master and Katsuhiro Harada utilizing the Soul of Devil Jin fighting style.
Capcom producer, Yoshinori Ono, spoke with 3DJuegos. Among the topics discussed were the possibilities of Nintendo's upcoming console, Wii U.
While the jury is still out on the Wii U for many gamers, Ono believes he knows the potential of the console can reach extraordinary heights. This perception was further intensified when he worked with the system's development kits.

Even LI Joe returned and made it to the top eight of the UMvC3 singles fracas. But who took home first place?

Time to plug up the holes.
WWE '12 has been regarded as the best WWE game to come out in years by critics and fans. The game, however, the game is not without its flaws.
It's almost impossible to search for something in Community Creations without receiving a server error at least once. THQ's Cory Ledesma took to Twitter to reveal that patch notes will be coming sometime tomorrow (Jan. 26, 2012):
Leona is a force to be reckoned with in King of Fighters XIII (KoF XIII) and pspjrr wants to prove it. The combos shown are simple for KoF XIII and most burn meter. Loops are also simple and will deplete your opponent's health quickly.
Another Wednesday, another Big Two event.
The 11th Big Two tournament is set to go down tonight (Jan. 25) from Next Level in Brooklyn, NY. Weekly Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition v.2012 (AE v.2012) makes its return and Sp00ky will provide the stream.
Expect locals such as Chris G, Dieminion, Sanford Kelly, TS Sabin, Noel Brown and others to participate. Last Week, Chris G took first place in UMvC3 and Dieminion took home the main prize in AE v.2012 singles.
Who will reign supreme this time?

Those hoping to see the likes of Mega Man, M. Bison, Psylocke and Captain Commando as DLC characters in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) should probably save their breath.
That's because when asked if there would be DLC outside of alternate attires in UMvC3, Capcom community manager, Seth Killian, gave an unpopular answer. He also shed light on the costume situation with Magneto.
See what Killian had to say on the Capcom-Unity forums (click here too) below:

Looks like the dream to select "The Reem" is not over, yet.
THQ originally planned to end its "Get Alistair Overeem DLC" promotion this past Friday (Jan. 20, 2012), but they are extending the offer until the UFC Undisputed 3 release date (Feb. 14). If you haven't nabbed the free DLC fighter, you can do so on the game's official Facebook fan page.
Of course if codes run out for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, the promotion will end sooner.

Maximilian is back to discuss the DLC rumors surrounding Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3). This is the hot topic on the 14th episode of the "Online Warrior." Max asks interesting questions such as whether or not more DLC characters would suffice with the already large roster on UMvC3.
Let's do this thing. Editors from 1UP and IGN squared off in a 5v5 tournament in Namco Bandai's upcoming fighter, SoulCalibur V (SCV). If you're looking for high level tournament play, this video probably isn't for you but for gameplay purposes it's serviceable.
Evil Geniuses player, Justin Wong, has been on a reign of terror in both the Street Fighter series and the Marvel vs. Capcom series for years. So much so that "Mr. Street Fighter" himself, Alex Valle says Wong has created a legacy.
Mike Ross and Gootecks of Cross Counter Live sat down with Wong to discuss his performance at last year's SoCal Regionals and his reaction to Valle's kind words.
Watch the three-part episode below:
Next Tuesday (Jan. 31, 2012) SoulCalibur V (SCV) will hit stores for Xbox 360 and PS3. To keep the hype rolling, Namco Bandai has released an unboxing video with community manager, FilthieRich.
Tonight (Jan. 24, 2012), 8 on the Break Weekly returns for another Tuesday night of fighting game action. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition v.2012 (AE v.2012) singles tournaments are set to go down from 8 on the Break in Dunellen, New Jersey.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition v.2012 (AE v.2012) singles action was on display. Sp00ky kept viewers covered with his crystal clear live stream.
Usual attendees participated including Chris G, Dieminion, Aquasilk, Chris Hu and others. By the end of the night, Dieminion was in grand finals for both UMvC3 and AE v.2012. Did he take at least one first place finish?

Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) will make its way to stores on March 6, 2012 for Xbox 360 and PS3. While the hype for that game grows stronger each day, one game that's waiting in the wings is Tekken x Street Fighter (TxSF).
This will be Namco Bandai's turn to show what they have to offer for the Capcom crossover. With the news surrounding SFxT, many fans assumed that TxSF would also be a tag team affair.
That, however, may not be the case according to the game's producer, Katsuhiro Harada (via Twitter):
Evil Toaster continues to show what he offers in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3). This time he's uploaded a video of a son of Sparda, Vergil. The combos offer up some new and old stuff and explains what's happening as the video progresses.
End your Monday with war.
Breaking away from the normal Mixup Monday, Option-Select will be streaming the first Art of War event tonight (Jan. 23, 2012) from the Zero LAN Ping Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This will be an Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) only tournament.
Payout goes to the top three players and a $250 bonus will be given to the winner. UMvC3 will be played on an Xbox 360, so those who plan on attending should make sure their pad or stick works with the system.

Two light heavyweight and two middleweight stalwarts will be playable in the UFC Undisputed 3 demo. These fighters are former UFC titleholder Quinton Jackson, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva and former Pride FC champion Wanderlei Silva.
You can test your skills inside the Octagon tomorrow (Jan. 24) on Xbox Live and PSN.
The demo roster was revealed on the official THQ Facebook fan page. The game will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3 on Valentine's Day (Feb. 14).
Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) is loaded with goodies. Besides a heavy Street Fighter and Tekken roster, exclusive characters such as Cole from Infamous will make their way to the PS3. Even the upcoming Sony handheld, PS Vita will get exclusives such as Pac-Man and possibly Mega Man.
So with Sony getting all the extras, where's the love for Microsoft?
Capcom's Yoshinori Ono wanted to spread the love to the Xbox 360 as well, but it wasn't meant to be. See his explanation (via Xbox 360 Achievements) below:
Persona has been known lately for his King of Fighters XIII (KoF XIII) combos, but that doesn't mean he's forgot about Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3). His Chun-Li combo video proves he hasn't lost a step since his last UMvC3 offering three weeks ago.
The date is set.
In a press release, Capcom revealed that its disc-based "Digital Collection" will be available on March 27, 2012 for $39.99. This will be an Xbox 360 exclusive.

The UFC Undisputed series has been praised for having some of the best commentary in sports games. Now, THQ is looking to give gamers even more audio content in the third game with pre-fight and entrance commentary of the combatants. In addition to UFC commentators Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan making their return, Stephen Quadros and Bas Rutten call the action in Pride mode.

If you missed out on the UFC Undisputed 3 alpha, or you couldn't get enough of it, don't fret. THQ will be releasing a demo of the game on the Xbox Live Marketplace and PSN on Jan. 24, 2012.
The demo is expected to have at least four real fighters from the UFC. The alpha test forced you to create your own character and take him to the online ranks.
UFC Undisputed 3 hits stores on Valentine's Day (Feb. 14) for Xbox 360 and PS3.
But only for today (Jan. 20, 2012).
Hori's Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) stick is on sale only for today for Xbox 360 and PS3 on Amazon for $119.99. The original price is $149.99.
The stick was made available on Nov. 29, 2011 on Hori's official site. Since the Xbox 360 version is HRAP.VX and the PS3 version is HRAP.V, both sticks have Sanwa parts.
Maximilian has posted a new video which breaks down the characters in Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT). Not all characters have been revealed so it's possible that this may not be Max's last character breakdown of SFxT.
Weak-sauce? Not anymore, apparently.
Capcom has uploaded three new Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) combo videos. The videos include beginner and intermediate gem combos and a Pandora mode video.

If you thought Mega Man's Zero wasn't a viable option due to his health, you may want to think twice. If he has the right assist like C. Viper's type y, the Maverick hunter can be a pain for any opponent in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) as demonstrated by Evil Toaster.
At least one crossover will have replays on consoles.
Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) will make its way to Xbox 360 and PS3 on March 6. PS Vita and PC versions will be released in the near future. Unlike Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3), replays in SFxT will not be an exclusive.
When asked about replay mode and more roster reveals, here's what Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono had to say (via Twitter):
Want to see gameplay of Cole from Infamous in Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT)? Or perhaps you want to see journalists get their asses handed to them by Capcom's Yoshinori Ono. Either way, this video from Game Informer is sure to satisfy your needs.
In Nov. 2011, Sony announced that a new Mortal Kombat (MK) title will grace their upcoming handheld, PS Vita.

If you dream to play as "The Reem," your chance is ending soon.
Late last year, THQ revealed that Alistair Overeem would be available as a free DLC fighter if you go to the official UFC Undisputed 3 Facebook fan page. This Friday (Jan. 20), that offer ends.
Overeem made his UFC debut against Brock Lesnar on Dec. 30, 2011 at UFC 141. "The Reem," finished the former UFC and WWE champion in the first round.
The former Strikeforce, Dream and K-1 champion will now meet Junior dos Santos and a date to be announced for "Cigano's" heavyweight title.

The third Big Two event of 2012 is set.
Sp00ky and the crew are gearing up for yet another Big Two tournament event at Next Level in Brooklyn. NY. The usual Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (AE v.2012) action you see on a weekly basis will be on display.

There's no such thing as too much karate. Humbag has uploaded a new combo video of the latest DLC character for King of Fighters XIII (KoF XIII), Mr. Karate. This video proves that while Mr. Karate is one of the funniest characters in the game, he's also one of the most lethal.
Story mode and fighting games don't usually hang.
It wasn't until the release of Mortal Kombat 9 (MK9) where fans of fighting games witnessed a solid storyline. Tekken 6 tried, but too many inconsistencies such as English-speaking characters understanding Japanese-speaking characters plagued it.
With Soul Calibur V making its way to stores for Xbox 360 and PS3 on Jan. 31, Namco Bandai is looking to deliver a deep story.
More exclusives are on the way for Capcom fighters on the PS Vita. First it was announced that a replay mode for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) would be exclusive to the Sony handheld. Now, Capcom is teasing Pac-Man and Mega Man (probably just Frank West in Blue Bomber attire) for Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) as another exclusive for the Vita. Also revealed in the trailer: M. Bison, Jin Kazama, Ling Xiaoyu, Balrog, Vega, Paul Phoenix and Marshall Law.

Whoever said less is more, never picked up a controller.
Tonight (Jan. 13, 2012), Capcom will be streaming Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) from the west coast at 6 p.m. ET. Earlier this week, Capcom's Yoshinori Ono hinted that a new feature for SFxT would be revealed on the stream.

It looks like the current version of Phantom Breaker will stay in the "Land of the Rising Sun." That's because the game will receive a title update in Japan to go along with its U.S. release, according to Siliconera.
Last week, it was reported that 7Sixty would bring Phantom Breaker to North America. The subsidiary of Southpeak Games confirmed the story when they unveiled the official announcement trailer.
The newest DLC character, Mr. Karate, has made his way to King of Fighters XIII (KoF XIII). To coincide with his arrival, Vesper Arcade has uploaded their completed trials of Mr. Karate.

Not all stages are Ultimate.
Anorhc dug into the contents of the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) disc to release a jukebox of stage themes. His efforts were rewarded upon discovering the theme to an unused Okami stage.
Back in July 2010, Capcom developer, Ryota Niitsuma, said an Okami stage was in the works for the original MvC3 title, but due to "clashing with the game's graphical style," the stage was scrapped.
Apex 2012 went down from Jan. 6 - 8. Besides the great Super Smash Bros. Melee and Brawl action, the tournament, streamed by Jaxel, was also dubbed as the "Road to Evo 2012." AE v.2012 was released as a free download on Xbox Live and PSN on Dec. 13.
Capcom Vice President, Christian Svensson, spoke to members of the Capcom-Unity forums recently. One member asked if Svensson considered the Smash Bros. series to be a real fighting game franchise.
The Smash Bros. series started in 1999 with Super Smash Bros. for N64. Melee succeeded it for the Gamecube in 2001 and Brawl followed in 2008 for the Wii.

Once regarded as the biggest threat in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (MvC3), Phoenix is still a force in Ultimate when turned dark. Despite the nerfs to her health, Phoenix still has value in UMvC3.
During a stream on Amalgame TV, an unknown Japanese player discovered a new anti-Phoenix method. The folks at ArcadeUFO have recreated the discovery in training mode.
It'll be interesting to see how Phoenix players react to this and if this spells the end of Jean Gray.
UFC Undisputed 3 hits stores on Feb. 14, 2012 for Xbox 360 and PS3. To further hype the latest UFC title, THQ has posted a video of its 150 fighter roster which now includes featherweights, bantamweights and Pride FC legends.

It's resets baby!
Resident Evil villain, Nemesis, has earned the respect of competitive Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) players. The infected Tyrant can create reset opportunities using Deadly Reach.
