Soul Fist!

Since Chris G utilized her effectively at the second Curleh Mustache tournament, Morrigan's popularity has grown stronger in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3). Now, fans of the Darkstalkers fighter have a combo guide to help improve their game.

The guide comes from Byakokoko, a well known UMvC3 and Tekken 6 player. This guide takes a different approach from the uploader's usual mission guides. Instead of giving tips on character missions, he is using Morrigan to showcase bread and butter (BnB) combos.

Street Fighter x Tekken: PC version will not feature local online co-op

Microsoft blues.

Earlier this month, Capcom confirmed that there would be no patch for local online co-op on the Xbox 360 version of Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT). Despite being advertised in the manual, Capcom only made this feature available on the PS3.

First, the company claimed the feature was impossible to do on the Xbox 360 version, then they claimed there would be more news on it in the near future. Instead, Capcom Vice President, Christian Svensson once again confirmed the lack of the feature.

Now, Svensson continues to cause Microsoft gamers grief. See what he had to say on the Capcom-Unity boards below:

No Guts No Glory: Why casual gamers shouldn’t shy away from the fighting game community

You never know until you try.

The fighting game community (FGC) has been going strong for years. Gamers from all over the world have joined forces as a result of a single bond … their love for fighting games. It’s that love that has made players spend years practicing to become successful in tournaments.

We’ve seen tournament play grow from small bets in the Arcades to live HD streams with thousands of dollars on the line. Now sponsors make it easier for competitive players to make trips to regional tournaments and of course the mecca of them all, Evo.

So with all the success and the growing popularity of the FGC, why are casual gamers afraid to dip their toes in the water? If it’s because they feel like they’ll get chewed up and be the laughing stock of the century, then they are mistaken. Casual gamers can learn to embrace and enjoy being a part of the community, but how?

In we go:

Capcom VP talks PC modding

PC gaming.

Many gamers prefer playing games on a PC than on a console. Some like the higher graphics capabilities, others like the ability to modify games to their liking. Picture Spider-Man in Street Fighter IV.

Despite keeping in touch with the community, Capcom hasn't really taken a stance on modding. This leaves fans wondering if the company is neutral on the situation or wishes to ignore it.

Capcom Vice President, Christian Svensson, took to Capcom-Unity to address mods.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Doctor Strange Combo Loop (Video)

Despite his low health, Marvel's Doctor Strange can be stylish in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3). MaziodyneMVC's latest combo video shows a fly-unfly loop performed by Strange.

We got the answer and it wasn't popular.

Now SRK has received a tip that shows there may be new stages that will be DLC in the future. Check out the pictures below:

Tekken Tag Tournament 2: Producer talks solo mode

Balance issues?

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (TTT2) will feature a solo mode. There has been some concern over how one versus two matches will balance out. Some are worried that having one single character will give that player an advantage in the power department.

TTT2 producer, Katsuhiro Harada wants to put the brakes on those fears. Here's what he said on Twitter:

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3: C. Viper Combos (Video)

C. Viper is known for being a pain in Street Fighter IV, but she can be just as brutal in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3). KORumvc3jj is out to prove that, uploading three C. Viper combos from South Korean play. Check out parts two and three below:

Street Fighter x Tekken: Still no patch for online 2 player local co-op on Xbox 360

Mixed signals.

Capcom fans looking to play Street Fighter x Tekken's (SFxT) two player local co-op on Xbox Live were in for a rude awakening. Despite claiming the feature was available on the Xbox 360 version's manual, the company only included it in the PS3 version.

The good news was that not all hope was lost. Seth Killian and Ayano both said there would be news on pair play update last week.

It didn't happen.

Instead, Capcom's VP Christian Svensson has put an even bigger cloud on the feature's status. Here's what he had to say on Capcom-Unity:

What's Right with Street Fighter x Tekken

Now stop, hating is bad.

Lately there has been an outburst of hate for Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT), especially from me. From the DLC policy to how the game is played, and just in general hating. Well I would like to remind people of the good this game does if one puts the time in to see past all the hate. That reminder is the main selling point of the game, which is ... you can play all the modes online with your friends.

When has there been something as simple as that little addition been so looked over? You can get salty over ranked games with your friends there to tell you that you should have switched in. Who wouldn't want all that pressure and rage-filled excitement? But on a serious note, it is indeed a fun endeavor if you so happen to have friends who play. It's a very nice switch from the usual go it alone route many other fighting games take (except DoA 4 which was also awesome).

You can get advice from your friend on what you should do better to handle a certain character, see how your partner handles different characters, and probably the most important mechanic to this game ... combos. A briefing room is available to work on combos and switch-ins, pretty much everything you can ask for. So the partner system can be seen as a great tool to help players learn from each more hands-on than before.

Reminder: Capcom-Unity SFxT tournament update stream now (March 19)

More DLC goodness.

On April 3, swap costumes will be available for $1.00 each on PSN and 80 Microsoft Points (MSP) on Xbox Live. A free tournament support update will follow the costume release. Capcom has also revealed they are working on a patch for sound issues online and infinites.

See what UMvC3 producer, Ryota Niitsuma had to say on his Twitter as well as the DLC glitch in action below:

Street Fighter x Tekken: All Trials by Vesper Arcade (Video)

Vesper Arcade rated Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) trials a two out of 10 as far difficulty goes. Maybe that explains why the crew has completed all trials in about one week. Here's a video where you can click on the trials you'd like to see.

Just Say No: Capcom's business practices work because you allow it to

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, fool me three times ...?

Ever bought something expensive and found out you needed to buy other parts after your first purchase to make it work either more efficiently or to significantly better your enjoyment of it? Well this isn't exactly a newsflash since DLC has been around for a few years.

Now imagine having the part you needed, locked in some way (say on a single disk folder for a video game) that is easily accessible and the only way to legally "unlock" it was to buy it.

Welcome to Street Fighter X Tekken (SFxT)!

Street Fighter x Tekken: 971 Damage Combo with Steve and Zangief (Video)

Who knew a boxer and a grappler could get along so well? Faded Spectre has uploaded a Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) combo video showing off his team of Tekken's Steve and Street Fighter's Zangief.

Capcom VP: 'I wish SFxT DLC had been done differently'

Regret.

Capcom has been able to get away with some unpopular decisions. Trolling Mega Man in both Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) and Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) had fans of the Blue Bomber crying foul. Supporters still defended the company.

Now it seems Capcom have dug themselves a hole so deep, that climbing out won't be an easy task. Once DLC was discovered on the SFxT disc, fans were outraged.

Even Capcom's VP, Christian Svensson wishes that the situation was handled differently as he explains to Game Informer:

Street Fighter x Tekken: Mega Man glitch (Video)

Zero gravity. Mega Man is available now for PS3 and apparently he's broken. A new glitch (not discovered by Desk) has been released. Blargalmanator gives us a better view of Antarctica.

Street Fighter x Tekken: Paul Combos by Persona (Video)

Paul's irrelevant? Says who? Persona World has followed up his Marshall Law combo video with Law's partner, Paul. The Tekken character can be put into good use, but not many players seem to use him effectively. That may change after seeing this.

Street Fighter x Tekken: Mega Man Trials by Maximilian

Fat Mega Man has landed on Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) for PS3. Maximilian has uploaded trials of the Blue Bomber. He also gives his impressions on the character's play style and questions whether or not the character is a joke.

Capcom: News on Xbox 360 SFxT pair play coming tomorrow (March 14)

Xbox blues.

First it was announced that, Sony would be getting three playable characters in Kuro, Toro, and Cole. Then Capcom stated that there would be no Xbox 360 exclusives. Now, an advertised feature doesn't even work on the Microsoft console.

On the PS3, you can do pair play. On the Xbox 360 you can not even though it says you can on the manual. Capcom said the console couldn't mix and match on Xbox Live, but that doesn't make sense because Mortal Kombat 9 does it.

Did Capcom forget they had fans on Xbox Live?

Have no fear Xbox Live gamers. See what Capcom's Ayano and Seth Killian had to say regarding an update below:

Dead or Alive 5: Producer talks sex

Get your mind out of the gutter.

Dead or Alive 5 (DoA 5) producer and Team Ninja head honcho, Yosuke Hayashi spoke with Gamereactor to promote the upcoming fighter. Among the topics discussed was the fifth installment of DoA lowering the sex appeal.

In previous DoA titles, the game was filled with eye candy. Now, women are dressed more appropriately for battle. So why the change now?

Hayashi explains:

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3: "Assist Me" Season 2 Trailer (Video)

Maximilian's days as an Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) player are far from over. In fact, he's released the trailer to the second season of "Assist Me." The trailer hypes Chris Redfield on the web series.

Skullgirls coming April 4?

Are we less than a month away from Skullgirls?

According to the Xbox Live Marketplace, the answer is yes. The overview pegs the original Skullgirls release date for April 4, 2012.

The upcoming fighter was supposed to make its release in late 2011, but Autumn Games pushed it back to implement changes and new features. Skullgirls will be available on PSN as well.

Street Fighter x Tekken: Floating Akuma glitch by Desk (Video)

Another Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) infinite? Must be Desk. The uploader has posted another glitch that will have your partner floating, literally. With this glitch, your opponent's meter does not scale.

Street Fighter x Tekken: Mega Man and Pac Man now available on PS3

They're here.

Namco's Pac Man and Capcom's Mega Man cosplayer have made their way to Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT). Currently the characters are only available on PS3, but they may be coming to the Xbox 360 after their models and unfinished prologues were discovered on the disc.

Street Fighter x Tekken: Marshall Law Combos by Persona (Video)

In Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT), Marshall is the Law. Perhaps there is no better demonstration of this than Persona's latest combo video. Over one minute and 50 seconds of kick ass courtesy of Law.

Reminder: SRK presents: Street Fighter x Tekken live stream now (March 12)

There's a new crossover in town.

Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) was released on March 6 for Xbox 360 and PS3. As expected, SRK wasted little time in getting the game streamed.

Can't join the lobby? Don't fret, FightVG.com has posted the live stream below, which as of this writing is in progress.

Check out the live SFxT action after the jump:

Street Fighter x Tekken: Combo/Glitch Video by Desk

Capcom's unofficial tester, Desk, is hard at work on finding exploits in Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT). The gamer has also released a transcription of the combo video on his blog. See it below:

Same Old Stuff: Character choices in SFxT diminish interest in the community

Stop hitting yourself!

Want to raise interest and bring more excitement to the community? Choose different characters!  Maximilian picks the same top tier characters when promoting new things in fighting games (think Doom, Wesker, Strider, Dante, and now Jin/Ken).

Everyone knows how well Ryu, Ken, Kazuya, Jin, and Heihachi work, but it's incredibly boring to watch these same guys (just like in UMvC3) fight each other and do the same moves and combos. Maximilian shows in this video, along with Floe, the state of this game.

Choose any combination of the five guys above and just go online. Even if you're not as good at the game, you can squeeze out a number of wins just off of their usability and effectiveness.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3: "Online Warrior" episode 20 (Video)

The latest episode of the "Online Warrior," dives into the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3X (UMvC3) rumor. Maximilian gives his thoughts on Capcom putting the rumor to rest and what characters he'd like to see if more DLC was on the way.

Ask The Pros: Top four SFxT characters

Ryu, Ryu, Ryu, and Ryu.

While that may be a reasonable observation for the top Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) characters, you can only pick the unofficial Capcom mascot once. Even the pros have to split from Ryu sometimes.

Cross Counter TV co-host, Mike Ross, asked well known SFxT players who their pick was for the four best characters in the game. Flash Metroid, ReNiC, and Jebailey threw in their two cents.

See what they had to say below:

Street Fighter x Tekken: "Online Warrior" episode 2 (Video)

Maximilian is back with another episode of the "Online Warrior," only this time, the action online is overshadowed by an issue of greater importance. Just before Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) hit store shelves on March 6, DLC was discovered locked in the disc. Max expresses his frustration with the decision as well as his disappointment in how the fighting game community has reacted to the news.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3X rumor untrue

The Ultimate expansion will not have an expansion.

This past weekend, a rumor on NeoGAF sent the fighting game community on a frenzy. The rumor claimed that Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) would be receiving an expansion titled "3X."

The poster claimed to have worked for GameStop and that the retailer's computer system contained the following information: "Expand the ultimate experience. 8 new challengers join the fight!"

Prices claimed by the "tipster" were $14.99 for a DLC voucher and $39.99 for a disc version. So what does Capcom have to say about all of this?

Bogus!
