FightVG.com put on hiatus

Down but not out.

I'm putting FightVG.com on hiatus for the foreseeable future. It's not easy to make this decision but I'd rather be in a state where I can give you the best coverage I can give rather than go through the motions.

When we'll start updating the site again is unknown but we will let you know one week before the ball gets rolling again. This is not the end of the site, it's a long rest that needs to happen in order to have a brighter future.

To get your fight fix elsewhere, you should visit SRK and EventHubs. These sites have been going strong for years and have been doing an excellent job at providing the community news and tips on fighting games.

We'll be back and stronger than ever but until then, stay free.

UFN 4 Full Results

The fourth Ultimate Fight Night (UFN) event has concluded.

UFN 4 took place last night (Oct. 15) and was streamed by PandaxGaming. Top players such as Filipinoman, Vangief, LionHeart, and more competed. Native Impact was originally set to meet Chin341, but the match-up was canceled.

There was a ton of hype surrounding the bi-weekly event as the main event was NorCal's Vangief vs. SoCal's Filipinoman. DMG's LionHeart was also in action, but his match-up was hit with a last minute change as his original opponent Baka was forced off the card. Ace Kombat served as a replacement.

Peep the UFN 4 results below.

UFN 4 Results: DRS Filipinoman sweeps Vangief

The main event of UFN 4 has ended and it wasn't even close.

DRS Filipinoman used Rose to meet Vangief, who played as Zangief. The match-up was highly anticipated. Many felt the set would be down to the wire, but that wasn't the case. Filipinoman earned all five games. Vangief suffered a shutout in his UFN debut.

Aquasilk replaced FREEJ4Y to serve as a guest commentator. "Silky Smooth" believed Vangief was experiencing some lag issues due to dropped combos. The sweep came as a surprise to iRedman and Aquasilk.

UFN 4 Results: DMG LionHeart dominates Ace Kombat

Last minute madness.

DMG LionHeart's Sagat was scheduled to face Baka's Fei Long at UFN 4. Baka was forced to pull out of the event and was replaced by Ace Kombat. LionHeart was met by Ace Kombat's Ryu.

Despite preparing for Baka, LionHeart wasn't phased by his new opponent. He defeated Ace Kombat 5-1 much to the surprise of iRedman and FREEJ4Y, who were on commentary.

LionHeart took games one, two, three, five, and six. Ace Kombat only took game four.

UFN 4 Results: Mighty Kurokiba survives IE Luken

Despite some scares, Mighty Kurokiba did what many expected him to do against IE Luken ... win at UFN 4.

Mighty Kurokiba earned games three, four, five, six, and nine. Luken gained control in games one, two, seven, and eight but wasn't able to pull off a victory. Luken was down by three games before turning things around in a comeback run. He takes the 4-5 loss.

Due to connection issues, PandaxGaming filled in for FREEJ4Y on commentary. FREEJ4Y had predicted a 5-2 victory for Mighty Kurokiba.

BREAKING NEWS: Ace Kombat replaces Baka to battle DMG Lionheart

UFN 4 Results: White Gun v2 stifles TommyGunzss' trolling attempt, earns 5-3 victory

When trolling goes wrong.

The second UFN match-up of the night has wrapped up and like the first bout of the card, it was not without controversy. PandaxGaming advertised a Seth versus Ibuki match-up. Much to the dismay of the event organizer, TommyGunzss used Gen in the first game of the set.

After receiving backlash from the commentators, PandaxGaming, and stream viewers, TommyGunzss switched back to Seth. Unfortunately for him, it was too little too late as White Gun v2 took the set 5-3.

White Gun v2 took games one, two, three, seven, and eight, while TommyGunzss took games four, five, six. Both competitors were swinging for the fences but by the end of the battle, White Gun v2 was a tad more technical.

UFN 4 Results: MMS BSIDA forfeits against MCZ DRS Chris

The Ken grudge mirror match has concluded in bizarre fashion.

MCZ DRS Chris and MMS BSIDA battled to determine who on this night (Oct. 15) was the better Ken player. The match kicked off the fourth Ultimate Fight Night (UFN) event.

Chris took games one, two, and three. BSIDA left the lobby after the third game and did not return. Since UFN events are done in a first to five format, BSIDA's loss is considered a forfeit.

What's next for the winner and loser of this grudge match?

Reminder: UFN 4 live stream tonight (Oct. 15) at 9 p.m. ET

Get your popcorn ready.

The fourth Ultimate Fight Night (UFN) event is set to go down tonight (Oct. 15) at 9 p.m. ET. This event will showcase Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition v.2012 (AE v.2012) action. Top players in the fighting game community (FGC) such as Vangief and Filipinoman will compete.

  • You’ll be able to play in both the Metropolis and Hades stages.
  • You’ll be able to try out four-player online tournaments and 2 v 2 online tournaments. For the 2 v 2 games we’ll be supporting friend invites, so you and a friend can fight another team online.

Fernando's POV: The Battle Royale demo at New York Comic-Con ran smooth and was very fun to play. I'm looking forward to playing the beta when it hits the PSN store. For a beta, the features you will have access to are stacked.

Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Brazil Results

Another tournament in the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary celebration has ended.

Sao Paulo, Brazil was the location that held the tournament this past weekend (Oct. 12-14). While the event may have been overshadowed by the New York Comic-Con (NYCC), there was still plenty of action to be had.

While plenty of Brazil's best showed up, two big names were looking to qualify for the big finals in December. Those stalwarts were Tokido and Gamerbee. How did they fare?

Brilliantly.
