Free, $19.99 and $39.99 versions of Killer Instinct coming to Xbox One, future bundles in the works

If you want Killer Instinct, you can get it in three different flavors with more to come in the future. Get the details on how the game's free to play model will function.

Fight for free or ante up.

Killer Instinct (KI) was first revealed to be a free to play fighter with gamers only having access to Jago. With that announcement, many expected a price for the full package to follow. Instead of one, they got two.

At Gamescom 2013, Microsoft and Double Helix announced two price bundles for KI. The $19.99 bundle includes eight characters (only six at launch) and colors for each of them. If you want a little extra, the $39.99 version adds different skins as well as the original KI title. A story mode won't come to fruition until either February or March along with the final two characters.

But that's not all, folks.

The upgrades don't stop at those two bundles. The game's creative director Ken Lobb told IGN the team is looking at adding a "season two" pack in 2014.

Those looking to purchase characters individually can do so. Each character is $5 and should one want to purchase the rest, he/she will receive a discount. The first four characters that have been announced are Jago, Glacius, Sabrewulf and Chief Thunder.

KI will be coming exclusively to the Xbox One in November.
