Reminder: Evo 2013 lineup to be announced tomorrow (Jan. 8)

It's that time of the year again. Evo 2013 will take place in July but Mr. Wizard is ready to reveal the lineup for the mecca of fighting game tournaments. Tomorrow will be the moment of truth.

The Evolution Championship Series (Evo) will have its 2013 lineup reveal tomorrow (Jan. 8). Joey "Mr. Wizard" Cuellar will bring the word on Wakeup SRK at 10 p.m. ET. He will join Keits and Skisonic as a special guest on the podcast.

Just like last year, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition 2012 are expected to make it on the main stage. While the rest of the lineup may be easy for some to predict, one game could be making a huge comeback this summer. That game is Super Smash Bros. Melee.

About two months ago, the official Facebook page of Evo asked fans to vote on a poll for the game they want to see the most at the event. The poll offers a slew of options. Melee is ahead in a landslide with well over 6,000 votes. While this doesn't guarantee a spot in Evo 2013, it's a pretty good indicator that the fans want to see it.

According to the poll, tournament goers and stream monsters do not want to see Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT). Despite being looked down upon by the fighting game community (FGC) both Mortal Kombat 9 (MK9) and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale are ahead of SFxT in the poll.

Ouch.

Nevertheless it'll be interesting to see if "Mr. Wizard" has any tricks up his sleeve with the reveal. We'll also find out if more or less games will make it to the main room this year.  Research is done beyond the Facebook poll such as how big of a following certain games have so don't be surprised if we see something such as an MK9 return.

FightVG.com will post the podcast on the homepage when it airs. During or after the stream, we will post the Evo 2013 lineup in case you miss the reveal.
