NYCC 2013: Quick chat with first-time Chun-Li cosplayer

FightVG got a hold of a first-time Chun-Li cosplayer who impressed on the show floor of the 2013 New York Comic-Con. Get our quick chat with the rookie inside.

We ran into another first-time cosplayer (click here to read Ryu article) who chose to wear Street Fighter attire at the Javits Center in New York City for the 2013 New York Comic-Con (NYCC). This impressive rookie from New Jersey was able to pull off Chun-Li in style.

While one might think first-time cosplayers who appear in big events such as NYCC would want to get their name out there, this particular Jersey resident just wanted to have fun. Below you can read our quick chat and a video showcasing the full interview.

Fernando: Chun-Li how are you?

Stella: Doing good.

Fernando: First, state your real name, where you're from and what brings you out here today?

Stella: My real name is Stella and I'm from Jersey and I'm just kind of a geek at heart, so that's why I'm here.

Fernando: Are you a big Street Fighter fan?

Stella: I'm sort of, I played it a lot when I was a kid, so I figured it'd be a good match.

Fernando: Have you been doing cosplay for a while?

Stella: This is actually my first one, so I'm really excited.

Fernando: You know what's crazy? I interviewed a Ryu cosplayer yesterday, that was his first time cosplaying.

Stella: Really? This was the first year, I was like, 'you know what if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it big.'

Fernando: (Since) this is your first time cosplaying, I'm assuming that you don't have a site or anywhere to go to. Is there anything that you would like to promote?

Stella: Not really, just promote fun [laughs] and Comic-Con is awesome so far.
