Hideaki Itsuno interested in making Rival Schools 3, 'new genre of fighting games'

The director of Dragon's Dogma has expressed his desire to create Rival Schools 3 and a "new genre of fighting games." Head inside for more details.

Perhaps there is still hope.

Capcom's Hideaki Itsuno spoke on the Japanese PlayStation community blog to discuss his interests going forward. The Dragon's Dogma director expressed interest in making Rival Schools 3. Here's the quote (via Dualshockers):

"I want to also make more games for (established) series such as Rival Schools 3."

The goal doesn't stop at Rival Schools 3 for Itsuno. He would also like to get involved with a new type of fighter.

"Later on, I would even like to make a game that captures authentic fighting and, such as Street Fighter II did, to develop a new genre of fighting games."

While nothing has been confirmed, it is interesting that Itsuno wants to dip his toes in the fighting game waters once again. Itsuno was the co-director of the first Rival Schools title. He also served as the co-director for Power Stone and director for Power Stone 2.
