Dead or Alive 5 expected to sell 1 million copies

Expectations.

Tecmo Koei recently released a financial report (via Siliconera). The company reveals in the report that they expect to sell one million copies of their upcoming fighter, Dead or Alive 5 (DoA 5).

But that's not all.

High expectations are also met with some post launch content and it ain't free. The reports mentions a method of paid DLC. The nature of the content was not revealed.

Dead or Alive 5 (DoA 5) producer and Team Ninja head honcho, Yosuke Hayashi spoke with Gamereactor to promote the upcoming fighter. Among the topics discussed was the fifth installment of DoA lowering the sex appeal.

In previous DoA titles, the game was filled with eye candy. Now, women are dressed more appropriately for battle. So why the change now?

Dead or Alive 5: More Virtua Fighter characters on the way?

More is more.

Yesterday (March 6) Tecmo Koei announced that Dead or Alive 5 (DoA 5) would be coming to North America for Xbox 360 and PS3 in September. They also revealed Virtua Fighter's Akira Yuki as a playable character.

Akira is a well known character in the fighting game community. Picking him to be the main extra character for DoA 5 may make the most sense from a business perspective.

But he may not be the only one tagging along.

Dead or Alive 5 coming September 2012 for Xbox 360 and PS3

Team Ninja is looking to end the summer with a bang.

The publisher of Dead or Alive 5 (DoA 5), Tecmo Koei has confirmed that the game will be heading to the Xbox 360 and PS3 in Sept. 2012. Developers, Team Ninja, have been hard at work on the upcoming fighter.

Back in December 2011, the game was only 15-percent complete. Significant progress has been made since that time.

Dead or Alive 5 coming to Wii U?

Wii would like to play Dead or Alive with U.

Dead or Alive 5 (DoA5) is scheduled for a 2012 release on Xbox 360 and PS3. In Dec. 2011, it was revealed that the game was just 15-percent complete and has a long way to go in the development process.

Ninja Gaiden producer, Fumihiko Yasuda tells Nintendo Gamer Magazine (via Free Step Dodge) that porting DoA5 wouldn't be much of a challenge:

If you want to get your hands on Dead or Alive 5 (DOA5) before its release, you've got it.

Tecmo Koei has announced that Ninja Gaiden 3 (NG3) will include a DOA5 alpha version that will not be available anywhere else. Xbox 360 gamers will get to play as Ryu Hayabusa and Hitomi. The PS3 version features Ayane and Hayate.

15 Percent: Dead or Alive 5 has a long way to go before completion

While its still scheduled for a 2012 release, Dead or Alive 5 (DoA 5) is in for a long development.

Famitsu (via Gematsu) has revealed that DoA 5 production is just 15-percent complete. The game will be available for Xbox 360 and PS3.

The article mentions DoA 5's new "Power Blow" abilities. This allows you to sent your opponent flying into a danger zone. The ability was showcased in October at the Tokyo Game Show.
