Street Fighter x Tekken available now

Today (March 6, 2012) Capcom's crossover fighter has landed in North America for Xbox 360 and PS3. Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) is out now on major retailers and where ever video games are sold (duh).

The build up to the game's release has been met with hype, controversy, confusion, and perhaps most of all, excitement. Since it was announced, gems have been a hot topic. We've lost track of how many times Seth Killian and the team has had to clear up confusion about the system.

Pandora mode was also a hot topic when Killian claimed he wouldn't be afraid to cut it due to it being "weak-sauce." The comment came a month after a timeout glitch was discovered while Pandora was activated.

But the concerns and confusion can now be put to rest.

Despite some initial grumblings and worries from fans, SFxT has garnered critical acclaim from top media outlets. IGN, EuroGamer, and OXM have given SFxT a 9/10.

The game has been praised for balancing gems out to the point where unfair advantages are a rarity. IGN even went as far as saying, "gems are actually a great addition to the formula, adding in some great strategy elements and being a lot of fun."

As far as Pandora mode goes, it made the final cut. Perhaps Pandora isn't weak-sauce anymore, so the next time it helps you win a match, just remember you almost had no hope.
