Capcom VP explains game choices for Marvel vs. Capcom Origins

"You can't always get what you want."

Marvel vs. Capcom Origins was revealed last week to mostly positive feedback. Who wouldn't love two classic Capcom titles remade and featuring online play? Not to mention the price of those two games are $20 or 1200 Microsoft Points.

Unfortunately you can't please everyone. While Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom seemed to be no brainers for Origins, some fans questioned the decision. Those hoping for Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter to be included in the remade were disappointed.

Capcom's Vice President Christian Svensson has heard the feedback and makes it clear they have not gone unnoticed. That probably won't change the fact that Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter is not on the company's agenda. At least not at this time.

See Svensson explain, after the jump.

"Theoretically MSH vs. SF would be possible, but frankly speaking, in our opinion it’s a relatively weak game compared to the others. Given that we could only pick two, we picked the ones we felt were the most iconic in the series that informed what would become UMVC3."

Fernando's POV: Capcom made the right choice here. As much as I love Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, the two titles chosen for Origins brought the series to where it is today. Kudos to Svensson for addressing the small group of disappointed fans.
