Season's Beatings: Ascension Results

September ended with a bang.

Season's Beatings: Ascension took place this past weekend (Sept. 28 - 30) in Cleveland, Ohio. The event saw top notch players from all over the world. These players included Chris G, Laugh, Yipes, Perfect Legend, Infiltration, PR Balrog, and F. Champ just to name a few.

The tournament event certainly wasn't scarce in the gaming department. Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition v.2012 (AE v.2012), Mortal Kombat 9 (MK9), Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3), Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (TTT2), and Dead or Alive 5 (DoA 5) were five out of ten titles on display.

Video: King of Summer Super Street Fighter II Turbo Round 3

The final Super Street Fighter II Turbo tournament of the summer concluded this past Friday (Sept. 21).

As expected, the tournament was filled with talented players and nail-biting matches. Round three would determine who moves on to the finals of the King of GGPO. Since the season has wrapped up, the summer series has ended.

The final round in the "King of Summer" tournament has ended.

Arturo "TS Sabin" Sanchez hosted the second round of the Super Street Fighter II Turbo action on Friday (Sept. 21). The popular Street Fighter competitor also provided live commentary as he has throughout the series.

The second round in the "King of Summer" tournament has concluded.

Arturo "TS Sabin" Sanchez hosted the second round of the Super Street Fighter II Turbo action on Saturday (Sept. 15). As a result of his first place finish in round one, jarek04 had a bye week. The finals will take place this Saturday (Sept. 22) ET.

Evo 2012 announcements trailer round 1

The latest Evo 2012 trailer has been released. Other than taking a look back at last year's big event, the new trailer has a couple of surprise announcements. The first one is Super Street Fighter II Turbo is getting its own "Tournament of Legends." The second announcement reveals a $20,000 Mortal Kombat pot and an Evo fightstick from Mad Catz.
