Capcom: Marvel cares about character requests for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Senior Vice President at Capcom USA, Christian Svensson says Marvel does care about the fans.

While Capcom has satisfied fans with Phoenix Wright and Frank West making their Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) debuts, Marvel hasn't exactly had that same love.

On the Marvel side, characters such as Psylocke and Gambit have been dropped in favor of Rocket Raccoon and Nova. While both new characters don't look bad in action, fans still feel like their requests are falling on deaf ears.

Svensson clears the air on Capcom-Unity (via Event Hubs):

"Marvel does care. I know they took some of their fan requests into consideration. Bear in mind, their fans would very likely have different requests of Marvel characters than our fans."
While it may be true that the Marvel fanbase is different from Capcom's, we can't recall anyone from the Marvel fanbase clamoring for a raccoon in a fighting game.

UMvC3 hits stores next Tuesday (Nov. 15, 2011) for Xbox 360 and PS3. The PS Vita version will be released Feb. 22, 2012.
