The fighting game community has reached out to the family of EMP Remix by putting over $13K in memorial funds.
On Dec. 23, 2013 Nelson "Remix" Reyes passed away. The Empire Arcadia (EMP) member was well known in the fighting game community for his Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 play.
A YouCaring page was made available by Remix's family to get funds for funeral costs. While the family fell short of their $15,000 goal, the total amount donated wasn't far off. The memorial fund received $13,389. The fund closed yesterday (Jan. 5).
