E3 Preview: WWE '12 release date, cover and details revealed

Are you ready for some wrasslin?

THQ and Yukes have unveiled the new WWE '12 video game to be released in North America on Xbox 360, PS3 and Nintendo Wii on November 22, 2011.

The new WWE title will see a U.K. release on Nov. 25, 2011.

The folks at THQ and Yukes haven't just repackaged the Smackdown vs. Raw series and slapped a new name on it. The game has a new animation system called "Predator Technology." Like WWE Day of Reckoning for the Gamecube, you can break up your opponent's move while they are doing them in WWE '12. For example, if John Cena goes for an Attitude Adjustment on your tag team partner, you can break it up.

Instead of selling a move for 20 years like in the Smackdown vs. Raw series, you will get up at the same time you are hit with the move. This adds realism and makes the game more enjoyable instead of having to mash buttons.

Also added to the game are wake up taunts. Have you ever wanted to be coiled such as the Viper Randy Orton before you nail your opponent with an RKO?

Well now you can.

In WWE '12 when you have a finisher (you can store them again) ready to go and your opponent is down, you can wake him up by taunting. Your opponent will be groggy and then bam, RKO.

Another feature added to the new WWE title is Dynamic Comeback. Like WWE Day of Reckoning's Momentum Shift, you have the opportunity to redeem yourself after a lackluster performance against an opponent. The only difference is that rather than being one move, in WWE '12 it's a combo. If you pull off the combo, you get two finishers.

Every year THQ says that the new WWE game will be the best one, but they always end up disappointing.

Will WWE '12 rise to the occasion?
