There's a new resurrection.

While Capcom had announced Darkstalkers Resurrection at New York Comic-Con 2012, they weren't finished with talk of the series at their showcase. Using Street Fighter IV style graphics, Capcom teased a new installment in the vampire fighter series with "Darkstalkers Are Not Dead."

Lord Raptor and Demitri were the main attractions of the trailer. We will add the trailer to this article when it's posted.

Darkstalkers Resurrection announced, coming to XBLA and PSN

Surprise, surprise.

Capcom could release trailer at New York Comic-Con 2012, Darkstalkers speculated

Has the time finally arrived?

Yoshinori Ono has revealed on his Twitter account that a "limited trailer" may debut at New York Comic-Con 2012 (NYCC). While trolling certainly isn't beneath Ono, Capcom usually puts their best foot forward when it comes to big events like this one.

For months, Capcom has dropped hints on a new Darkstalkers title. Back in February, Capcom renewed the Darkstalkers trademark when it was thought to be a dead issue.

Blast from the past.

The PlayStation Blog revealed that Capcom's Darkstalkers 3 is coming to PSN on April 24. "The Night Warriors" was released on PSN late last year. With all these Darkstalkers classics resurfacing, perhaps that trademark has come in handy.

This release will be a PlayStation Classic, so there will be no new features and no online play.

Capcom files new trademark for Darkstalkers

Perhaps not all hope is lost.

Fans of Capcom's Darkstalkers series have been waiting a long time for a new title. In fact, the last Darkstalkers game was a collection released only in Japan in 2005 for PS2.

Now, Siliconera is reporting that Capcom has filed for a new trademark on the Darkstalkers franchise. While this may not exactly equate to a new title being in the works, it definitely confirms that the series has plenty of life left in it.

Darkstalkers characters can be found in the Marvel vs. Capcom series. Characters such as Felicia and Morrigan have made their presence felt in the current generation.

[UPDATE] Report: DarkStalkers game coming to PSN

According to the ESRB (see picture here) DarkStalkers will be making its way to PSN via PS One Classics. A representative for Capcom told FightVG.com that no announcements have been made for a Night Warriors release on PSN.

The site says DarkStalkers: The Night Warriors will be available on PS3 and PSP. The site did not give a release date.

Since the game is a PS One Classic, there will be no extra modes such as online play as it is a port of the original PlayStation version if the listing holds true.
