Another fighting game, another tier list.
With games such as Skullgirls taking over the spotlight, Namco Bandai hopes to steal the thunder with Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (TTT2). While the game's update, Unlimited is out, it's only available in Japan.
Top Japan players took to Arcadia Magazine (via Level Up Your Game) to reveal their tier list. The list comes from Fukushi, Yuu and others.
See the TTT2 Unlimited tier list below:
First Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT), then Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3), then Skullgirls. Now Maximilian is filming his week of fighting games with Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike. This is significant for the series because 3rd Strike is a classic.
Civil War 4 is in the books.
The pre-Evo tournament event was held in Richmond, VA from April 27 through the 29th. The following games were featured: Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3), Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT), Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition v.2012 (AE v.2012), King of Fighters XIII (KoF XIII), Mortal Kombat 9 (MK9), and Skullgirls.
Sp00ky and Bifuteki were on streaming duties for the event at the Comfort Inn. See the results for all games mentioned above, after the jump.
YoItsOdin has uploaded his latest Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) combo video. This one is titled, "Strange Loops." Despite his suspect health, Dr. Strange is still a viable force competitively in UMvC3. NOTE: Music not safe for work (NSFW).

The latest Blazblue Continuum Shift: Extend (BBCS:EX) combo video to hit the web features Valkenhayn. The combo video comes from Jourdal. The uploader returns to making combos after posting a bevy of online matches.
Desk is hard at work in the Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) lab. His latest video showcases the 1054 damage combos of Tekken's Steve and Kazuya. Street Fighter's Ken also joins the fray by assisting Kazuya.
Has the cat been let out of the bag?
Amazon has updated their page for the PS Vita version of Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT). They have added an Oct. 2 release date. While Amazon usually puts mock dates on upcoming products, those dates aren't far off, most of the time.
If the date holds true, it'll be a big gap from the console release dates. Owners of the console versions of SFxT would have to wait even longer for DLC characters as Capcom intends to put them up for download on Xbox Live and PSN well after the Vita release.
Since the release of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3), Nova has become a popular character. That may be due to his laid back style and punishing combos. Infrit12 has released a new UMvC3 video with some Nova tech and concepts.
Don't call it retirement.
Right now, Victor "Sp00ky" Fontanez is in Richmond, VA to stream the final day of Civil War 4. Yesterday Sp00ky revealed on the stream that after Evo 2012, he will no longer be streaming big events.
The highly regarded streamer cited traveling and lack of enjoyment as his reasons for stepping away from bigger events. It's likely that he will continue to stream the Big Two, which is held every Wednesday night at Next Level in Brooklyn, NY.
Yesterday (April 28) Maximilian uploaded the fifth episode to his "Sega Saturn Saturdays" series. This one takes a look at the Virtua Fighter games that were released on the Saturn. Like every other episode, Max is joined by his colleague, Matt.

The road to Evo continues.
Sp00ky is in Richmond, VA at the Comfort Inn to stream Civil War 4. He is joined by Ultra David who is on commentary for some Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) action.
Other games that will be played at the tournament are Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT), Mortal Kombat 9 (MK9), King of Fighters XIII (KoF XIII), and more. The stream starts today (April 27) and ends on the 29th.
Watch Civil War 4 live below:
More Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) combos continue to surface. While Dante isn't the most original character, he does do effective combos that do substantial damage. This one from SoSoJynX uses a little assistance from Doctor Doom.
Story in fighting games.
If there's one thing that fighting games have been lacking in, it would be a story mode. Stories in Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) are brief and they are non-existent in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3). The only fighting games to really take note of this recently are Mortal Kombat 9 (MK9) and SoulCalibur V (SCV).
Tekken 6 had a story mode, but there were many inconsistencies that plagued it. An example of this would be English speaking characters understanding what Japanese speaking characters said with ease.
Namco Bandai hopes to improve Tekken Tag Tournament 2's (TTT2) story. One of the ways they intend to do this is by increasing each character's movie. See what TTT2 producer, Katsuhiro Harada had to say on Twitter below:
Skullgirls is on a roll. The game sold 50,000 copies in just 10 days. Not bad for an Xbox Live Arcade title competing with Fez for the top spot. Here's some more Skullgirls content with Maximilian's fifth day of the week online.
Change is coming.
Capcom has revealed that a balance patch for Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) will be hitting Xbox 360 and PS3 mid May. The patch aims to fix glitches and provide changes for numerous characters who have exploits.
For a list of those changes, head past the jump.
At the moment, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) is perhaps the most hyped fighting game in the community. It's combos videos like this one from AdelheidStark that make it so. Spencer, Amaterasu, and Taskmaster form a team to provide some serious damage.
Since late last year, rumors have surfaced of a Smash Bros. clone coming to Sony's PS3. Names such as Kratos, Drake, and PaRappa the Rapper were characters rumored for the title.
After months of anticipation, Sony has revealed the inevitable (via GTTV). PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is now official. Kratos (God of War), Parappa the Rapper, Fat Princess, Sweet Tooth (Twisted Metal), Sly Cooper, and Radec (Killzone) have been confirmed.
Third party characters will join the fray. Expect more announcements to be revealed in the near future. The PS3 exclusive hits North America during the holiday season.

Good news Skullgirls fans.
Reverge labs has revealed that their latest fighter has sold 50,000 copies on both Xbox Live and PSN. This is huge for the company because Skullgirls hasn't even been released on the European or Australian PSN yet.
Reverge Labs didn't just update fans to boast about their sales. The official Skullgirls Twitter account has revealed the game's first updates are coming soon.
Maximilian has uploaded the 27th episode of the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) edition of the "Online Warrior." Max takes a break from the live commentary to provide insight on his pre-recorded matches.
SNK Playmore has released King of Fighters XIII (KoF XIII) Climax in Arcades today (April 26). Climax is an update to the console versions of KoF XIII. The update includes characters found on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions through DLC and balance changes.

Maximilian is getting ready to wrap up his week of online ranked action with Skullgirls. This is the second to last day of the week for Max. He continues to provide live commentary for day four.
The final Big Two of April 2012 has wrapped up.
Yesterday's (April 25) tournament event saw Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3), Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition v.2012 (AE v.2012) action. Sp00ky was on hand to stream the event at Next Level in Brooklyn, NY.
Locals such as Chris Hu, Aquasilk, Chris G, Noel Brown, Arturo Sanchez and others participated. There could be only one first prize winner for each tournament, so who took home 70-percent of the pot?
See the Big Two 4/25/12 results after the jump.
Endless Comboz has uploaded a new Skullgirls combo video featuring Ms. Fortune and Double. The characters team up to deliver a 202 hit combo. This is of course impractical due to the game's infinite prevention system.
Wednesday, April 25, 2012
A new Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) combo video from Snackarific has surfaced. The uploader pairs Street Fighter's Juri with Tekken's Hwoarang to deliver a hurting on all who oppose them. This is Snackarific's fourth video in a row featuring Hwoarang.
While North American gamers have been able to enjoy Skullgirls, others have not. That's because the game has not be released in Europe or Australia.
That changes now.
Skullgirls producer, Peter Bartholow took to the SRK forums to confirm that the fighter will be on the European and Australian PSN store on May 2. No word on pricing.
A new Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) combo video has surfaced. This one comes from Gravimite and features Spencer and Jill. They get a little assistance from Doctor Doom, Amaterasu, and Wesker.
It's that time of the week.
The Big Two is set for tonight (April 25) at Next Level in Brooklyn, NY. You can expect Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) and Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) action to be streamed.
Top locals such as Chris G, Dieminion, Arturo Sanchez (TS Sabin) and more may attend. All participants will be vying for 70-percent of the tournament pot.
Watch the Big Two live stream below:
The third day of Maximilian's week with Skullgirls is over. Max has uploaded his ranked online matches for day three. As always he provides live commentary so his insights are spur of the moment. NOTE: Language not safe for work (NSFW).
Capcom has released Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (MvC2) for iOS devices today (April 25). The game is available at the App Store on the iPhone and iPod Touch.
The regular price is $4.99, but if you purchase the game from now to May 6 it will only be $2.99. The 56-character roster and core gameplay remains for this version.

The latest Evo 2012 trailer has been released. Other than taking a look back at last year's big event, the new trailer has a couple of surprise announcements. The first one is Super Street Fighter II Turbo is getting its own "Tournament of Legends." The second announcement reveals a $20,000 Mortal Kombat pot and an Evo fightstick from Mad Catz.

Arturo Sanchez has uploaded a breakdown of Street Fighter x Tekken's (SFxT) new replay analyzer. The new feature was included with today's patch available for both Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. The patch also eliminated infinite combos.
Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) was released for Xbox 360 and PS3 March 6. While the PS3 version does not have an input bug, the Xbox 360 version does.
When trying to jump forward on the Xbox 360 version of SFxT, sometimes your character will just move forward or jump straight. The fix did not come through in today's patch, but Capcom producer, Yoshinori Ono took to Twitter to ensure fans that the issue will be addressed.
See what Ono had to say below:
The trench coats and Fantastic Four villain reign supreme. Gold Samurai Armor has uploaded a new Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) combo video featuring Wesker and Vergil. Doctor Doom gives them a little assistance.
Hail to the King!
Namco Bandai has released three costume packs for SoulCalibur V (SCV) today (April 24). These packs include Tekken, Modern, and Ancient costumes.

The clock is ticking.
A Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) patch has been in the works for about a month. Now, Capcom community manager, Seth Killian (via Twitter) is saying that the patch, which will remove infinite combos has been competed.
Now it's just a matter of releasing it. Killian says that they are waiting for Sony and Microsoft to approve the date in which the fix can be released.
UPDATE: The patch is now available on both Xbox Live and PSN.
The week of fighting games rolls along. Maximilian has posted the second day of his week of online ranked matches in Skullgirls. This is a new series for Max where he shows his week with a number of fighting games such as Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) and Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT).

See what he had to say below:

Blazblue Continuum Shift: Extend (BBCS:EX) is still a relevant fighting game. Despite being ousted from Evo, their is still a following for the Arc System Works fighter. Murakumo Unit has uploaded a highlight video of BBCS:EX featuring "combos, trolls, and stuff."
Mortal Kombat on the PS Vita is set for a May release. Besides looking almost as good as the console versions and retaining all the features, owners of Sony's handheld will have access to even more content.
The PS Vita version will have exclusive alternate costumes. The skins that have been revealed are UMK3 Smoke, UMK3 Ermac, UMK3 Noob Saibot, UMK3 Rain, UMK3 Sub-Zero Masked, UMK3 Scorpion, UMK3 Reptile, MK2 Scorpion, MK2 Reptile, MK2 Ermac, MK2 Sub-Zero, and Kenshi.

If it's broke, fix it.
Just two days after Skullgirls' Xbox Live release, Reverge Labs acknowledged a menu glitch. If you plugged in a specialty controller such as a guitar, the menu would not function properly.
This is now a thing of the past as a patch is now available for Xbox 360. No patch was needed for the PS3 version because the glitch never occurred.

Patch not included.

For months, rumors have surfaced about a Smash Bros. style fighting game making its way to PS3. Names such as Drake from Uncharted, Kratos from God of War, and Parappa the Rapper have surfaced.
All that has been known for sure are leaked screenshots from NeoGAF back in November 2011. Now Sony's PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale may not be a rumor anymore.
A poster on NeoGAF noticed that Sony has registered the web domain for the game.
Geoff Keighley of GTTV took to Twitter to hype an exclusive announcement on a new PS3 title along with gameplay footage. All signs point to a Sony fighting game exclusive.
The seventh episode of the Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) edition of the "Online Warrior" has been uploaded by Maximilian. This episode takes the live commentary approach rather than giving advice over pre-recorded matches. NOTE: Language not safe for work (NSFW).

Blast from the past.
The PlayStation Blog revealed that Capcom's Darkstalkers 3 is coming to PSN on April 24. "The Night Warriors" was released on PSN late last year. With all these Darkstalkers classics resurfacing, perhaps that trademark has come in handy.
This release will be a PlayStation Classic, so there will be no new features and no online play.
Day four of Maximilian's week with Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) has been posted. Max surfs through fan feedback on Xbox Live and once again provides live commentary during his ranked matches. NOTE: Language not safe for work (NSFW).

Jadeshikonapan has posted his latest Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) combo video. Rather than focusing on a single character or team, this combo video showcases the entire SFxT cast of Tekken brawlers. Transcriptions are included in the clip.

Want to snag Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (TTT2) characters early?
Eurogamer has reported that certain TTT2 characters will be included as early access for limited pre-order deals. Namco Bandai will eventually release those characters free of charge on Xbox Live and PSN.
Early this month, TTT2 producer, Katsuhiro Harada said he was against DLC. This possibly eliminated any possibility of future DLC characters for Tekken 6. Harada's comment came fresh off Capcom's DLC debacle.
Capcom's Tron Bonne may not have the mystic she once did in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (MvC3), but she's still a serious threat in UMvC3. Mr. Spazzomatic has uploaded a UMvC3 combo featuring Tron, who gets some assistance from Sentinel and Spencer.
Let's fix this thing, again.
Namco Bandai has released another SoulCalibur V (SCV) patch on Xbox Live and PSN. While the 1.03 patch isn't as extensive as the 1.02 patch released last month, there are still some changes worthy to take a look at.
8 Way Run has provided a translation for the 1.03 patch notes. The patch appears to have fixed some network issues caused by the previous update. See what other changes SCV players are in store for after the jump.
Namco Bandai continues to hype it's upcoming fighter, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (TTT2). This is the official trailer for the game. TTT2 will be hitting Xbox 360 and PS3 sometime in September.

Namco Bandai's upcoming fighter, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (TTT2) is coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 in September. While much is known about the game due to its Arcade release in Japan, the company (via GameSpot) that will bring you TTT2 is dishing out some more information.
The first is training mode dubbed, Fight Lab. The mode is designed to conquer the more complex aspects of TTT2. Fight Lab features a customizable Combot.
Namco Bandai's second video dives into team specific moves. It features various Tekken characters such as King, Marduk, Xiaoyu, Jack-S, Bryan, Steve and others.

Ragna the Bloodedge is considered to be the poster boy of Blazblue Continuum Shift: Extend (BBCS:EX), but there's a reason for that. He is an ass kicking machine. Orcitect has uploaded his latest combo video, which shows just how devastating Ragna can be. See the combo transcription below:
The Unity Ruleset Committee (URC) is no longer active.
Marc of Smash Boards has announced that the Smash Bros. URC has disbanded. This means there will no longer be updates by the URC, and Meta Knight (MK) will stay unbanned (unless certain tournament organizers feel otherwise).
Last year, the URC announced that MK would be banned from all tournaments under their rule post Apex 2012. This left the Super Smash Bros. Brawl community split as to how they felt about the committee.

Post patch woes?
Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) has been praised by critics, but panned by many fans. Besides the locked DLC issue, SFxT has been plagued by sound issues online. Rather than hearing your punches connect fluidly, the sound would tear.
Capcom released a patch that improved the sound. Gamers have been reporting however, that the game is suffering from slight input delays online as a result of the fix.

After the PS Vita "exclusive characters" were found locked in the disc of console versions, Capcom confirmed that they would be DLC for $20 or 1,600 Microsoft Points.
